​  1. Is a visa required to enter Turkey?

  According to Article 13 of the Annex to the Law on Aliens and International Protection, in order to stay up to 90 days in Turkey, you must obtain a visa from the Consulate of the country where the foreigner legally resides or in the country of which he is a citizen or have a visa-free mode.

  2. I have an annual visa. Can I stay for a year without a break in Turkey?

  The duration of a visa or visa exemption provided for by Turkey shall not exceed ninety days every one hundred and eighty days.

  3. There is no Turkish consulate in the country where I live. I want to apply for a residence permit. How can I visit Turkey?

  If you are not eligible for a visa exemption, you can enter Turkey by obtaining a visa from a Turkish foreign mission in a third country.

  4. What should I do if there is an entry ban to Turkey?

  You need to apply for a visa based on a special permit at a Turkish foreign mission.

  5. Can I use a visa without leaving the country after my residence permit ends?

  You cannot use the visa/visa exemption after the residence permit has expired. At a minimum, you need to make an exit / entry.

  6. What does a special permit visa mean?

  The visa application submitted through the Turkish Mission is sent to the General Directorate and the visa is not issued without the permission of the Ministry of Interior. In other words, this means that the visa is issued with a prior authorization.

  7. Where can I find out the results of my Special Authorization visa application?

  The results of your visa application can be obtained from the Turkish representation where you applied or through the Information Centre. For Foreigners 157.

  8. How long do I have to use the visa I received at the consulate?

  You must use the visa obtained at the consulate within 6 months.

  9. How can I apply for an e-Visa?

  Turkey e-Visa is valid for tourism or business purposes. Electronic visa applications can be submitted through the website www.evisa.gov.tr.

  10. Can I enter Turkey if my passport is expiring?

  Persons who do not have a passport or a document replacing a passport are not allowed to enter Turkey after a period of at least six months from the date of expiration of the visa, visa exemption or residence permit.

  11. Can I get a residence permit in Turkey with a border visa?

  With a border visa, depending on the type of residence permit requested, it is possible to apply for a residence permit.

  12. How many days is a border visa valid for?

  Border visa is issued for 15 days.

  13. I overstayed the visa regime for five days (I violated). Will an entry ban be enforced?

  Your status will be assessed when you cross the border. In accordance with Article 54 of the Law, a decision is made on the exclusion of a visa or a period of exemption from visas exceeding ten days, or those whose visa is cancelled. However, persons who commit a visa violation for less than 10 days are allowed to travel provided they pay a fine for the violation. According to Article 54, Law 6458, no deportation decision is made.

  14. I am in Turkey and my visa has expired, can I apply for an e-visa inside the country?

  Persons who are in Turkey cannot apply for an e-Visa, if you want to stay in the country legally, you must apply for a residence permit.

  15. How long does a valid passport have to be to enter Turkey?

  The period of your stay in the country must not exceed the validity of your passport or identity document and be valid for less than 60 days.

  16. Where can I find out the results of my visa application?

  You can find out the result of the visa application from the representation of your country.

  17. How many days will the visa be processed?

  Visa applications are submitted to the consulate in the country where the alien is a citizen or legally located. Applications may also be received electronically. The decision to obtain a visa is made no later than 90 days. This period starts from the moment the application is submitted.

  18. I was fined for violating my visa, can I enter Turkey?

  Those who do not agree to pay their fines and penalties from a previous residence permit or for violating a visa are not allowed to enter Turkey.

  19. What is visa fee exemption?

  The countries that are exempt from the residence permit and the countries that are exempt from the fee for a single entry visa are determined by the Ministry in accordance with the principle of reciprocity. If foreigners who entered Turkey on a special visa or a visa obtained through a foreign representation apply for a residence permit, they are not charged a one-time visa fee, since they paid the visa fee. However, foreigners entering Turkey without paying a visa fee under the visa exemption between the two countries are charged a one-time visa fee for applying for a residence permit, as they do not pay a visa fee.
