1. Short-term residence permit

  A short-term residence permit is issued to the following citizens:

  1. - Foreigners coming for the purpose of scientific research;

  Foreign citizens who make a request for a residence permit must submit an authorization document regarding the subject of the upcoming scientific research obtained from the relevant institution or organization (Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Ministry of Energy, universities, etc. ). In the absence of informed consent, it is necessary to submit a declaration on the subject of the forthcoming study.

  2. - Foreigners owning property in Turkey;

  Foreign citizens who own real estate must own and use a residential property for that purpose. In addition, if family members are entitled to a share or joint ownership of this housing, then they can also apply for a residence permit.

  3. -Foreigners with commercial connections or those who will be doing business;
  They must present an invitation or similar document from the company or person they will contact.

  4. - Foreigners attending educational programs on the job;
  Issued in accordance with the educational program on the job, based on information and documents regarding the content, duration, place, subject of training, which is organized by the institution or organization.
  5. - Foreigners coming for study or similar purposes under student exchange programs or agreements to which the Republic of Turkey is a party.

  Must submit information or documents from the relevant institution. The validity of a residence permit cannot exceed the duration of studies or activities carried out for similar purposes.
  Students coming under a student exchange program (Erasmus, Mevlana, Farabi, etc.) and completing an application for universal health insurance, within the first three months from the start of their date registrations are required to take out health insurance.

  6. - Foreigners who arrived for the purpose of tourism;

  The application is reviewed for location, length and duration of stay. If necessary, additional information or documents may be required.

  7. -Foreigners who come for the purpose of treatment, but on condition that they are not a distributor of one of the diseases that pose a threat to public health.

  Must provide invitations from public or private hospitals.

  Individuals with proof of payment of all medical expenses are not required to provide a health insurance policy.
  A residence permit is issued for the duration of treatment. If necessary, it may be necessary to submit information or documents from the relevant institution regarding their treatment.

  This type of residence permit also implies obtaining a residence permit for persons accompanying the patient. In accordance with additional paragraph 14 No. 3359 of the Basic Law on the Provision of Medical Services, foreigners arriving in Turkey can be accompanied by no more than two persons, from whom, when applying for a residence permit, they are not required to provide a medical insurance policy.

  8. - Foreigners forced to stay in Turkey, depending on the request or decisions of the judicial or administrative authorities;

  The validity of such a residence permit is indicated in accordance with the period specified in the decision or request.

  9. - Foreigners who, in case of loss of the right to a family residence permit, receive the right to a temporary residence permit.

  10. - Foreigners who have arrived for a Turkish language course;
  Must have permission from the Ministry of National Education, have the right to use such permission no more than twice.

  If the duration of the course of study is less than one year, then the validity of the residence permit should not exceed the duration of the course. The institution that conducts the course is obliged to provide the city government with information about the start date and progress of the training of foreigners who have registered for the Turkish language course.

  11. - Foreigners who arrived at the invitation of state educational institutions to study in Turkey, experience and conduct scientific research;
  The duration of the residence permit must not exceed one year. If there are financial opportunities, as well as the covering by state organizations of the costs associated with accommodation, meals and treatment, foreigners are not required to provide a health insurance policy. Information and documents will be requested from the organization.

  12. - Foreigners who have completed their higher education in Turkey and apply within six months of graduation;

  13. - Accompanied by their spouses and minor children, foreign persons not working in Turkey, but engaged in investments, the amount and amount of which is established by the Council of Ministers; The term for granting such a residence permit is not more than five years.

  14. - Foreigners who are Turkish citizens of Northern Cyprus.

  The term for granting such a residence permit is not more than five years.
